Westside Reservoir Park : ウィキペディア英語版 | Westside Reservoir Park
Westside Park is a proposed park in the City of Atlanta to be located on the site of the former Bellwood Quarry, between Johnson Rd. and Donald Lee Hollowell Highway, and between Bankhead and West Midtown. ==Status== The land, which had been owned by Fulton County, is currently in a long term lease to Vulcan Materials. On December 10, 2005, Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin announced a plan to acquire the lease and the land in order to create a park with a lake which would also serve as a drinking water reservoir. The plan is a portion of the extensive Belt Line project to construct a ring of parks, trails, and transit surrounding the core of Atlanta. The proposed Westside Park is nearly twice the size of Atlanta's current largest city park, Piedmont Park.〔http://www.atlantaga.gov/media/nr_quary_063006.aspx〕〔http://www.beltline.org/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=u08aSkhsFUY=&tabid=1825&mid=3479〕〔http://beltline.org/Portals/26/maps/Tour/blp_map_westside_final.pdf〕〔http://atlanta.bizjournals.com/atlanta/stories/2006/06/26/daily43.html〕〔http://www.atlantaga.gov/media/citynewsbytes_121807.aspx#beltline〕 As of July 2014, there is still no date as to when the park will be funded, begun, or completed.〔("Should Atlanta's next civic center be built near Bellwood Quarry?",Max Blau, ''Creative Loafing'', Jul 24, 2014 )〕
